Today my book was read by a French teacher via zoom to teach a French lesson to class 3 at Holy Apostles Primary School. They also used it to learn the names of animals. The teacher loved how the book phonetically aided with pronunciation and she got the children to copy down the pronunciation help to their work books at home. The children learned new essential French such as how to ask where the toilets are! ‘Speak Scruffy! Have a Go!’ Is also going to be used by the infants in KS1 for Languages Day. As well as learning some French, teachers will foster a respect and appreciation of different cultures in the world. Children will understand the world better and learn that it’s good to have a go at new things – like speaking another language!
